Trips to Frankenmuth, Ketchup Fiends, and Gas Leaks

Happy Birthday to me! 25 years old! A quarter century! I'm really getting old!

We went to Frankenmuth yesterday for my birthday dinner. It was terrific. We took Bradley and Evelyn to Bronner's (the "Ho Ho Ho Store") and Bradley was totally amazed. He also loved eating unlimited noodles and crackers. And ketchup. He dips his french fries in ketchup like most normal people do, but he doesn't actually eat the french fry...he just sucks the ketchup off.

We came home to a loud noise in the house (at 8:45 pm). I quickly discovered that our gas meter outside was emitting a loud, deep noise. To make a medium length story short, the gas company had us all leave the house and a technician quickly came. He found out the gas meter was just making a weird vibration noise and no gas was actually leaking. He let us go back in the house while he replaced the gas meter. It all turned out ok!

Enjoy the movie and pictures.

Hooray!! The Swalberg Family has entered the Blogging world!

Hi Everyone!
I decided to make a blog, because I love to see everyone else's. I may not comment often, but I DO check your blogs out. I got the blog bug and thought I'd give this whole blogging world a whirl.. :) I will TRY my best to update it often just so it doesn't become stale.

Apparently, Justin has already created some blog about his economic theories. However, it is written in Spanish. So, when I came to create our own family blog, I had to come to "blogspot.com" in Spanish, and decipher the directions. SO... if I get anything wrong, I apologize. Justin is at MBA school right now, so I have no translator. The important part is that I can figure out how to put on the pictures!! (One disclaimer: He has the laptop at school right now that has the majority of our pictures. So I'll just put on what I have on this computer)

You know, I'm kind of going stir crazy. Being inside ALL day, doing laundry, changing diapers, feeding, and playing playdough kind of gets to you. Tomorrow there's a play group and they are meeting at McDonald's to play in the tubes. But, call me obsessive compulsive, I just think those tubes are WAY too germy, and I don't want to get Bradley sick and then consequently get Evelyn sick as well. I think we'll do something else instead. Maybe check out a DVD from the library or something. We've just GOT to get out of the house!

Bradley's favorite things to do are playing in the bathtub (which he does at least once a day), playing with play dough, coloring, doing beans (he just pours pinto beans into cups and it keeps him quite entertained), and calling both Grandmas on the phone. He likes to eat "noodle-snakes" (aka Spaghetti noodles), cheese, strawberries, bananas, and juice. In fact, he did SUCH a great job on eating dinner tonight (which is a rarity) that I offered ice cream for dessert. He gave a high pitched squeal of delight, "oooooo!!" and agreed at my offer. However, when I gave him the ice cream, he ate a few bights and then politely declined and shouted "BA!" for a banana instead. When I told Justin that he put wanted a banana instead of ice cream, Justin just said, "He's not my son!"

Evelyn just had a MAJOR break through two nights ago: She slept through the night. Hooray!! From 10:30 to 6:00 or so. I really think it's because she is wrapped up like a mummy. She likes it, and so we do it! She smiles at me and is starting to coo. She is crying less, and is more of a happy baby than when she was a new born. (she's 2 months old now)
Below is a picture of a fuzzy hat Grammy Jan gave Evelyn.

And like I mentioned before, I'll try to keep this updated. My goal is to update it on either Mondays or Wednesdays while Justin is at class. We'll see if I can keep it up...
