Just Flossing My Tooth

Great news everyone! We recently discovered that Evelyn has received her first tooth! Well, I guess this is good news for everyone except Bethany, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, we've discovered that Evelyn has tremendous hygiene. She has already started to regularly floss her tooth:

Horse Riding Adventure

Bethany is such a strategic garage sale shopper. She uses craigslist to spot the gold mines and doesn't waste time driving around. Yesterday, she found a huge garage sale with lots of children's stuff. She came home with a big surprise yesterday. For the low low price of just $2, she brought Bradley home a Bradley-sized race horse!!! I had one of these growing up also. Every boy needs one of these.

Check out the horse riding action in the video below!

Fishing Adventure

Last night, Bethany, Bradley, Evelyn, and I took Katelyn, Daniel, and Ryan Benson fishing at Highland Lakes in Northville, MI. Bradley and I have been fishing there for quite some time now. We always catch at least 10 bluegills when we go (and sometimes 15 or 20). I've also caught 1 little 7" bass there, and a 12" painted turtle (on a hook/worm!). The little fish there are so easy to catch. It's great if you are an impatient fisherman like me. You won't land many big whoppers, although I have seen a couple bass that are over 12".

Last night was no different. Under my Master Angular Tutelage, Katelyn caught two bluegills and Daniel caught two bluegills and one 7" bass (probably the same one I caught four weeks ago!). But the most successful angular of the night was none other than Mr. Ryan Benson! He caught 3 bluegills and a turtle! The video below shows just after we brought the turtle out of the water, with the hook still in his mouth.

Daniel promised he'd give me his entire collection of Bionicles if I ate the turtle's tail.

Daniel, thanks for the Bionicles. They are so much fun!

Camping Adventure

Bethany, Bradley, Evelyn, and I all went camping as a family at the Westland Stake campout. We brought a pack-n-play for Evelyn to sleep in, and Bradley just slept on the sleeping bags with us.

Well, actually, we laid out our sleeping bags to cover nearly the entire tent floor. But Bradley managed to squirm and roll while trying to sleep and ended up sleeping on the exposed tent floor (tarp). He actually really liked it, and quickly fell asleep. I guess it was cooler. I had to get up at 6 am to go make pancakes for the Stake, and my sleep was horrible (some ward was up until past 11:30 playing an accordion and singing, and then the teenage girls and boys were chasing each other) , so I woke up pretty groggy and we didn't end up staying very long on Saturday.

Bethany and I decided that taking our children camping will be something we do, at a maximum, every 3 years! Perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad had I been able to get to sleep and didn't have to wake up so early.

The video below will sum it up well.
